Ethereal Moon Mousery is a small hobby mousery based in Southern California focused on health, temperament, ethical placement, and responsible breeding.
By submitting an application, placing a deposit, or purchasing any mouse from Ethereal Moon Mousery, you agree to the following terms.
Applications that do not reflect understanding of my policies may not be approved.
Minimum Standards
To protect my animals, I require:

Social & Housing Requirements
Should a mouse end up alone, I require to be contacted so I can help place the mouse in a proper home or provide the animal with new friends. I reserve the right to decline placement if I feel a home is not the right fit.
Mice are living animals and require ongoing care.

Reservation Process
All mice are priced at $20 total per mouse. Pricing is not based on color, but equal value. All funds made from sales go right back into the mousery and profits are never made from sales. Deposits are required as proof of ability to properly care for the animals.
Deposit Amount
Reservation deposits are typically 50% of the purchase price at $10 per mouse and are due within 24 hours of selection of the mice.

Pickup Timeline
Once a mouse is ready for transfer, pickup must occur within 7 days, and transport must occur within 30 days unless otherwise agreed in writing. Should an event take place where an emergency prevents these time frames from follow-through, I require I be informed so I can help out and adjust as needed.

We can hold fully paid animals for up to 30 days pending breeder descretion.

Transport Responsibility
Transport is a third-party. Outside transport arrangements and cost are the buyer’s responsibility, including:
When Responsibility Transfers
Once the animal is released to the transporter/carrier, the animal is considered in the buyer’s custody.
I do my best to ensure the animal is healthy at the time of transfer, but transport stress and illness is outside my control. Should an animal need to be returned, transport costs may be transferred to me as needed.

All mice are sold in good faith and are healthy to the best of my knowledge at time of transfer.
7-Day Illness Window
If the mouse becomes severely ill or dies within 7 days of in person transfer, you must:
This time limit may be extended in rare cases involving confirmed infectious diseases when all of the following apply:
In such cases, resolution may include replacement after an appropriate quarantine/recovery period and confirmed negative testing when applicable, mousery credit, or transfer of the reservation to another eligible animal (including when available, through a trusted partner/sister program) The use of a third-party transport voids the pathogen guarantee or 7-day illness window.
If eligible, I may offer:
1-Year Genetic Guarantee
Genetic outcomes cannot be guaranteed, but I stand behind my lines. If the mouse dies unexpectedly within 1 year due to suspected congenital/genetic causes, I may offer a replacement or credit.
This does not include pathogen illness, illness/injury related to husbandry, transport stress, fights, improper introductions, or accidents.
Veterinary Bills
I do not cover veterinary or lab testing cost.
If you currently own rodents or other small animals, I strongly recommend quarantining new arrivals for at least 6 weeks in a separate airspace without breeding or 12 weeks if you do breed in quarantine. The use of outside transport is at higher risk of pathogen transmission and voids the 7-day illness window guarantee.
Health testing has limitations and reflects only a point in time. Not all pathogens are testable, and results cannot guarantee a completely pathogen-free environment.
Ethereal Moon Mousery can only provide information on what pathogens their lines are known to be free of based on current testing and observation, and cannot guarantee or disclose the complete absence or presence of all pathogens.
Ongoing exposure risks exist outside of my control, especially when transport is used.
Some mice are sold as:
Pet only animals cannot, under any circumstance, be bred. The breeding of our animals requires a separate approval process. If a pet only animal is bred, this is a violation of my policy. Future sales may be denied. I require you inform me in the event of an accidental pregnancy.
In such events, I may:
The mouse will then be given back to you after the litter has been raised at my discretion. The rights of the animal may be forfeit under certain circumstances or until the cause of the pregnancy has been handled responsibly. Open communication and cooperation will help determine the outcome.
I reserve the right to refuse or cancel any sale if:
If I cancel, any payments already made, other than the non-refundable deposit, will be refunded unless the buyer has violated these terms (example: harassment, threats, chargeback attempts).

Mice may not be surrendered to a pet store, feeder sale, or unvetted third party. Refunds are not permitted in this situation but transport costs may be covered at my discretion. Independent rehoming is not allowed under any circumstance and may place you on the do-not-sell list.
